Growing up on the East Coast, food was everything. The sizzling aromas drifting out of my best friend's family restaurant — a beloved Jamaican spot where I spent more time than my own kitchen — and the bold, unapologetic flavors that defined our neighborhood shaped everything I know about food — and never left me.
When I discovered Detroit-style pizza, there was something about that thick, crispy-edged crust that reminded me of the same patience and soul that goes into a proper Caribbean cook-up. So I started asking myself: what if these two worlds shared a pan?
I moved West ready to bring something new to the table. Every pie starts with that signature Detroit base — and our crown jewel, fall-off-the-bone oxtails braised for 8 full hours, right on top. Oxtail Pie is the one that started it all and the one that says everything about who we are.
